When you think about renting your home out on Airbnb do you immediately think ‘I wonder how much this would go for during the December/January holidays?’ Well you should! This is our busiest period of the year and a perfect opportunity to skip town and make some extra money.

Noosa’s peak holiday season is the best time of the year to have your own holiday – somewhere else! Not many of us have the patience to line our cars up on Noosa Parade waiting to get into Hastings Street only to find there is nowhere to park the car.

If you are going away during the holidays, here are some of Team BnB’s tips to help you get your Airbnb listing in Noosa ready for the next holiday season.

Improve your Airbnb listing

Have you got amazing but realistic photos? Is your description up to date? Make sure you include all relevant information in your listing. If you have extras such as cots, strollers, kayaks or stand up paddle boards, make note of it! Be careful though, make sure your listing is factual, you don’t want to give your guests really high expectations and then they give you a bad review.

Increase your nightly rate

Everyone (including hotels) increase their prices during the peak holiday season. You should too! Make the most of the travellers coming to Noosa and if you already have plenty of good reviews, don’t be afraid to be too expensive. Noosa’s holiday homes are usually fully booked during the peak holiday season – don’t miss out on the opportunity.

Get your home Airbnb ready

You need all the essentials and yes, these days Wifi is an essential. Make sure your home is clean, uncluttered and nicely decorated. Lock away any valuables or things of importance and make space for your guest’s clothes and other personal items. Your guests are booking a home away from home and expect some wardrobe and bathroom storage space.

You also need to consider safety aspects – for example, is your pool safety certificate up-to date? Is your home safe for small children? Do you have insurance that will cover you in the event of any damages or accidents?

Get the right home loan structure in place

Double check that you’re not paying  too much in interest, fees and are claiming all the deductions associated with running a holiday rental. If in doubt about your mortgage – get in touch with a mortgage broker in Noosa

These are just some of the things you need to do to get your Noosa holiday home ready for the peak holiday season. If you need help with this, Team BnB can do it all. We create your listing, take the photos, review your pricing, take bookings, liaise with guests, check in your guests, be their point of contact and organise professional cleaners as well as high quality linen.

Don’t miss out on your opportunity to increase your yield and get amazing reviews.
